Booster’s CARB-Certified Smart Tankers & Fueling Infrastructure

Booster is a proud partner of the California Air Resources Board. In 2021 CARB issued EXECUTIVE ORDER VR-601-A: Related to the Certification of Mobile Dispensing System and Non-Vapor Recovery Components, certifying that Booster’s fleet sets the standard. Our system has been so carefully refined that our team worked directly with the California Air Resources Board to craft state regulations and policy that protect citizens from harmful pollutants. We are one of the select few mobile energy providers that is safe, certified, and fully compliant.

Since then, every vehicle in the Booster fleet of fuel delivery Smart Tankers has and continues to meet the state’s highest standards for gasoline and diesel delivery. We are proud to have maintained this certification for the last 5 years, not just helping our clients lower their own emissions, but keeping our impact on the environment as small as possible.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) operates a comprehensive truck emissions program that supports key state regulations that dramatically reduce pollution from heavy-duty vehicles. As of January 2023, all diesel-powered vehicles operating in California, with a gross vehicle weight rating over 14,000 lbs. must have a 2010 or newer engine and emission system. Most recently, the program also includes the Clean Truck Check initiative, which uses advanced monitoring technology to identify high-polluting vehicles on the road. These regulations have helped drive the adoption of lower- and zero-emission vehicles. These regulations work together to ensure that both existing trucks are properly maintained and that the fleet gradually transitions toward cleaner technologies.

CARB’s truck emissions program supports California’s broader climate and air quality goals while fostering innovation in the transportation sector. The regulations help the state meet federal air quality mandates and contribute to achieving California’s ambitious climate targets, including carbon neutrality by 2045. By creating market demand for cleaner trucks and the necessary supporting infrastructure, these regulations are also driving technological advancement across the industry thanks to the size of the California market. If truck operators are struggling to navigate these shifts to cleaner tech, CARB provides transition assistance through programs like Cal Fleet Advisor, ensuring that environmental progress doesn’t come at the expense of small businesses and working families who depend on the trucking industry for their livelihoods.

California’s Truck and Bus Regulation is one of the most far-reaching and important tools in California’s efforts to reduce smog-forming and toxic emissions that can deeply affect public health in disadvantaged communities. After all, heavy-duty on-road vehicles can be a significant source of pollutants for surrounding communities. The program ensures heavy-duty vehicles operating in California are well-maintained and repaired quickly when needed to reduce emissions and improve public health statewide. With many lower-income communities often located near freight corridors and industrial areas, these regulations can help prevent the formation of the very pollutants that contribute to respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and cancer.
